Therapy Approach

I use a compassionate, goal-oriented and solution-focused therapist approach, using innovative techniques to empower patients to navigate through life challenges.

Through therapy, I will assist you in defining achievable goals and will help you learn simple, understandable procedures that will become second nature to help you reach those goals.

Five essential questions:

  • What is the problem?
  • What solution have you tried?
  • Who is involved?
  • Why now?
  • What specific goal are you seeking?

If you desire a greater understanding about yourself, and want to master the tools you need to achieve a more fulfilled life, I can help you sift through the knowledge of what has worked for you in the past, or what didn’t and why.

If you have trouble establishing boundaries about guilt, performance, or are seeking to raise your self-esteem, let me help you reach your extraordinary potential.

Training & Experience

Dr. Daniel Slavin became my therapist when I was seriously contemplating suicide. Dr. Slavin provides an atmosphere of safety in a way that it allowed me to openly cry which is an emotion that I internalized most of my life. In my experience Dr Slavin is brilliant in the way he spoke to me as an individual and does not come from a formula or text book theories. Dr. Slavin was intuitive regarding my internal needs and the pace and process in which he helped me with complex issues throughout a period of 2 years. I have told people in my personal life that "Dr. Slavin saved my life" and that is exactly what he did in addition to giving me tangible hope and giving me a sense of self esteem that I did not know I lacked until I was in therapy with him. Dr. Slavin also gave me realistic reasons as to why I am a valuable human being and that life is a journey of different processes; not to be afraid of them, and to take joy in day to day life and to be able to understand "to me" what living life fully trully means—W.R.
